happy birthday, tough guy!

ethan's friend, joseph, turned 1 this past weekend. it was ethan's first birthday party for a little friend! (mr. eric, your birthday was his first party ever--at less than a week old, but i don't even think he was awake for it!) it was a challenge trying to keep the birthday hats on all the little guys! lydia had fun running around chasing balloons-- i think she thought it was an extension of her birthday the week before. natalie was more than willing to teach her brother how to dig in to the icing. :) we caught a moment of all the little boys looking somewhat in the party mood... though ethan seems more interested in the balloons, and william seems more interested in steven!


here's some shots of the birthday boy and his cake. he wasn't sure if he wanted to get his hands messy at first, but once he did, he did it right!
