stay tuned...

there will be more pictures and stories about our thanksgiving weekend.... but i have a ton of laundry to do first! and my husband can't wear a blog post to work!!!

thankful for family

ok so i just wrote a big montage on thanksgivings when i was a kid and what i was thankful about, and i lost it somehow while trying to preview my post.... so right now, i'm not so thankful for computers. i refuse to retype all that... so here are some pictures of my family.

aunt norma & clarence came by with grandma to visit before we went on our trip.

here's a group shot after our thanksgiving lunch... apparently, the turkey enzymes were already affecting granddaddy, and ethan thought uncle ryan's finger WAS a turkey! :)

quality tv

so nana is retired.... she's loving it, and apparently she is using her time very wisely...like searching out great internet resources for the well-being of our child. tonite she sent me a link to songs from the pbs show "between the lions". i've heard of the show, and it was always playing in my OBGYN's waiting room, but i never waddled over to the tv to watch it...now i see what i was missing!! one song just happens to be my all-time favorite phonics rule.. "when 2 vowels go a-walking, the first one does the talking". :) but brian and i have voted this song to be number one... or is it won? :) if you don't get that, you obviously didn't check out the link.... nana has voted vowel boot camp as one of her top picks. i'd go with her recommendations. she knows her reading stuff!!

check out the website, and vote on your favorite song!! (mom, this should keep you busy at lunch...)

there are also great reading resources on here for your kids! have fun with the online games or print out some things to color. i thought the word play game was really cute. i'll have to add this to my bookmarks for future reference... right now, we're just working on rolling over! :) (which he did TWICE today, by the way!)

friends

ethan would like you to meet his best buds, from oldest to youngest.

joseph is first. he is almost one year old! he likes to try to eat our fridge poetry. :) this kid can reach!! he is very mobile- i have a feeling ethan will be chasing him around next year!! this picture is a couple months old, i think. here, the boys are with their daddies, who have been friends for a very very long time!

next is steven. he just turned 6 months old. steven has recently learned to sit up, and he loves stealing ethan's toys. these two are apparently trying to see who can go the longest without blinking!!!! this picture also made it as "image of the week" on steven's mommy's blog. :) no autographs, please.
**update: 11/9- we saw steven crawl today!! how exciting!! :)**

william and ethan were due the same week, but william came a week "early"...and ethan came a week "late". it will be fun to watch these 2 grow up together since they're so close in age. they both LOVE their bumbo baby seat, and they also love to see who can be the loudest during church with all sorts of noises!! :)

we are so thankful that God has already blessed ethan with friends--and that their mommies and daddies are so great, too! we look forward to watching these boys grow up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. praise God for His daily blessings!

alias challenge

what alias character are you?? i am....

Marshall!!
What Alias character are you?

brought to you by Quizilla

ok so i'm not REALLY like marshall, but i love his character on alias so much.. and i love to imitate him... so i took this quiz and tried to pick the answers that would make my result be marshall... can you be marshall?? i mean it's really not that hard, you just you know, click the link above, it's a really great link, lots of quizzes for all sorts of people, but some of the quizzes are not that great, especially to post on a blog. do you have a blog? i have a blog. OH. sorry, yeah, so anyway, click on the link below and see if you can pick the "marshall" answers. if you can, i have a great prize for you. it LOOKS like a normal wristwatch, but inside is a camera, phone, and surveillance equipment. get it? wrist "watch"? i thought of that myself..

kristie & cindy, don't let me down. :)

if you don't watch alias, don't even try. it won't be funny to you.

(disclaimer, there is no reward of a handy dandy wrist "watch"-- just part of the marshall persona)

quizzes are fun! c'mon fellow 24 addicts...

which 24 character are you?? i'm...

still the same...

just thought i'd post a picture of us college girls back in the day... we really haven't changed all that much! this picture was taken just before most of the girls graduated. at that point, there were 2 husbands among us... now, there are 7 husbands, 2 little boys, 2 babies on the way, and a doctor to take care of us all. :)

goin' to the chapel...

my dear friend and college roommate, nichele, was a beautiful bride this weekend. friends and family gathered to celebrate her marriage to rick, a man that seems to treat her like a queen and love her dearly. congratulations to the happy couple! (you will love marriage- it is definitely a blessing from God!!) here are a few snapshots from their celebration...

several of our college friends traveled to be a part of her wedding weekend... we did absolutely nothing but enjoy each other's company. that is true friendship...no need to be entertained because being together is surely entertainment enough! this weekend was pretty much like a middle school slumber party... somebody sleeping on every walking space in the house, conversations still going at 1 a.m., and loud shrieks at midnight about dumb, girly things. i cannot believe we didn't wake up ethan with our screaming! (i cannot believe we found weird guy from chapel on a singles website!) on sunday afternoon, i felt like a truck had run over me. when i was younger and would return home from a slumber party playing the role of "miss cranky-pants", my mom would without fail say, "that's the last slumber party you're going to!" i think i was telling myself that on sunday afternoon... (thank you, nana and pappy, for caring for my child so i could sleep!) i'm sure the next time we all get together, we'll stay up too late, look at the same pictures all over again, and maybe we'll find another chapel friend on the internet....maybe next time it will be the guy with the electric razor or the girl with 50 butterfly clips in her hair!! oh, the possibilities are endless. :)

thank you, girls, for coming. i loved having you, and i know it meant so much to nichele for you to be here. enjoy the pictures of our time together.

oh, come on, you didn't think i could post pictures without including one of my cutie-pie, did you? he did very well at his first wedding. they say that kids are more well-behaved when they're dressed up...
