nighttime routine

ethan's favorite bath toy right now is this set of floating blocks from papa & grandma joy. not only do they float, but they stick together when they're wet! fun fun!!



here's some pictures from bedtime around our house. you can see that daddy always gets a few more smiles from the kids before they're off to bed. the picture of ethan and me was taken while we were reading, though you can't see the book... his favorite book right now is rattletrap car, which we checked out at the library. what a cute book!! (thanks for the recommendation, kendra!) hopefully i can share more later about ethan's first trip to the library... he loved it!

a shower, a tub, and a bunch of pictures

we had fun hosting a shower for amy today! kristi beat me to the post, so you can check out MY pictures on HER blog. :) thanks, kristi, for saving me the time!! it was so good to see amy & aiden... he is so tiny and precious!!! he probably seems like a chunker to amy, but it's hard to believe our big boy was that tiny once!! as you can see, aiden got tired of all the girl talk at the shower. :)

ethan had his inaugural bath in the turtle tub tonite... he loved it! he thought the turtle head was pretty great! he also enjoyed hearing the loud bath water run. here's a couple of pictures from his bath...




as you can see, we used 2 different cameras for his bath pictures. some sweet friends heard that we would like to upgrade to a nicer camera sometime in the future, and they let us borrow their canon rebel--a VERY nice camera! the 2nd bath picture was taken with the rebel-- check out the detail!

am I not turtley enough for the turtle club? turtle, turtle... if you've seen master of disguise, you know what i'm talking about...dana carvey is hilarious... but anyway, alas, i found a cute little inflatable tub way on sale at target! i had already ordered one from amazon that was $26 after shipping!!!!!!! what was i thinking?? yes, mom, i cancelled the amazon order!! :) i can't wait to plop ethan down in this thing and watch him play! my friend susan uses her inflatable tub as a baby pool in the summer- what a great idea!!! can you tell i'm excited about my great find?? there are a few left at our target, so run! go! get a turtle tub!! on a sad note, good bye tummy tub. we sure have loved you. ethan's just too fat for you now.

oooh! i just came across ifilm.com, where i found the turtle clip from master of disguise... most of you will think this is dumb, but it cracks me up. :)

like front row at sea world...

after ethan's bath time, i always feel a bit like i've just seen shamu... yes, my child is a big baby, but that's not what i mean! i'm referring to the fact that he loves to make waves!!! brian noted tonite that more water was on our kitchen floor than in his tub... looks like ethan has already outgrown the beloved tummy tub. i didn't get the best splashes of the night on video (because i want to keep my camera!!), but here's a peek into our fun bathtimes!



i had to capture some tummy tub moments before we move on to the big tub. i'm planning on ordering one of those inflatable tubs for the big tub...that way he can play without worrying about him hitting his head on the hard tub. anyway, here's some shots from tonite's bath...
