park day!

we're loving the hint of crisp fall air that greets us in the morning! it is usually gone by lunchtime and sometimes returns by nightfall, but we'll take what we can get these days. we met up with some friends at a little park this past week on a gorgeous day. the kids played hard for hours, and the moms? we actually got to sit and chat a little. the kids were so cute playing on the slides, playing house, climbing things... but my spot on the picnic blanket was a nice one, and i was not in the mood to hop up and take pictures every few minutes. (it does happen.) i don't even think i got a single picture of amelia... but she did not stay very still for long. she was lovin' the license to explore! here are a few shots that i did take on this beautiful day...

speaking of baby girls, shannon came out with her edibly cute twins. their red curls are just... gorgeous. here's one of them scarfing down cheerios. i love love love her romper. wish they made it in my size!!


the big kids spent a lot of time on the tire swing. most of them liked to go fast. really fast....


but not caroline. she tolerated the flying 'round and 'round, but this was more her style.


ethan and avery were so proud to have scaled mount monkeybars! these boys had a blast together.


hopefully this is the first of many, many park days in the cool weather. our fall clothes are in the closets and ready to go! so... that probably means we'll get a heat wave next week.
