thankful

DSC_8536
we are looking forward to a relaxing thanksgiving day with family and friends tomorrow. lots of turkey and some boston butt, too. (i bet that if i was given a dollar for everytime ethan says, "don't say butt!" during the day, i would be able to finish my christmas shopping!) we're gonna make turkey cookies, and i'm also making my favorite: pumpkin cobbler. we may even do a little impromptu reenactment of the first thanksgiving with the kids. (i say impromptu because i just remembered i was gonna work on that this week...) the guys will most definitely be playing the wii, and i will most definitely be taking a nap at some point. ("those turkey em-zymes" as my sweet father-in-law calls them.)

whatever we end up doing on thanksgiving day, one thing is for sure: we will be counting our blessings. we will be praising our God for all that He has done. and my children will be no doubt be singing this song...

they seem a little stressed, but i guess they were just concentrating on the words. they absolutely love this song. we taught them this song a couple of weeks ago, and they really picked it up quickly. ethan asks to sing it all day long. they can be overheard singing it as they are playing legos or when they're on the potty. :) and ethan serenaded all of super wal-mart last weekend with this song... at the top of his lungs. but how could i stop him!? he was definitely "raising the song of harvest home!"

have a wonderful thanksgiving with family and friends! God is good!
