almost four

5x7 - 03
i can't believe my little boy is on the brink of turning four years old. this age has always been my favorite. their imagination and attempt at logic is just unforgettable, but they haven't grown up too much yet. i used to love babysitting kiddos this age, but now i have one of my very own! (parts sold separately.) one of my most favorite memories of ethan right now is the way he will, out of the blue, just look at me with those big ole eyelashes flappin' away and say, "i love you, mommy!" he has adopted these "grown up" phrases, like "i don't know about that", "that's what i'm talkin about", "of course!", and his latest, "for sure!" lately, he has been into counting everything and reading off the letters on anything he sees. ethan is quick to compliment me throughout the day, and he makes sure he asks daddy about his day when he arrives home each evening. he is so careful about so much, and i see so much of his daddy in him. today, after ethan helped me put sprinkles on a batch of cupcakes, he asked permission to put the lid back on the sprinkle jar. after a few minutes of working on this, i looked over to discover that he was ever-so-carefully trying to put the 3 rogue sprinkles that were on the counter back into the jar through the little holes. :) i think i will remember that every time i eat a cupcake with sprinkles on it! witnessing my baby become a boy makes me smile toward the future while simultaneously wanting to bottle up these preschool days. here's how hope mabry photography captured my preschool boy...

aren't those eyelashes a killer? the boys always get the longest lashes...

Emily, the pictures of your kids are precious! I can't believe how fast time flies and how big Ethan is! Seems like yesterday Mom was dropping me off at your house and we would play Barbies all afternoon and now you are a Mommy of 3!!! :)
