my day today...

actually, ethan has been quite wonderful today (unlike the pouncing children on the couch in this comic!)-- i am blessed that he played by himself very well this morning... i did not sleep well at all last night, which means i am taking every one of my child's sleeping moments to catch up on my rest. which means that by the end of the day, my living room will look like this lady's, and hopefully my hair won't look that bad! ha! i am thankful that i have a very understanding husband who knows that my daily housework has to suffer on days like these so that i am somewhat rested and comfortable. it will probably continue to suffer for the next 6 weeks as i get more tired and more achy... but praise God that my justification is not in what i get done in any given day! praise God that my justification comes from Christ alone! joshua harris has a wonderful message about this very thing... once i can figure out how to link to it, i'll post the message on here for you to listen to. so check back soon.

OH MY GOODNESS! Last night before we went to sleep, Eric brought me a bowl of cereal up to our room, and when he got up there, he smiled and handed me that very same cartoon! He had clipped it out of the newspaper and said, "Here, I know you will appreciate this after your day today." hahaha! That's so funny. I almost bawled and wanted to tell him that this small gesture of thoughtfulness made me feel so loved - ha! I'm praying for you, too. I know these seasons are merely seasons, and we're going to get through them with more faith in our Father! I was thinking this morning, "Wow, at least I don't have to be nursing Meredith on the ground out in the open or on a hard matress like some mothers in other countries . . . I get to lay in my warm, soft bed . . ." Love you :)

Would you please tell Kristi for me that I will really miss her blog. She left no space for comments on her 'last blog.' She has had some wonderful, encouraging posts even for a soon to be grandmother. I do not know her email address, but know that you correspond with her regularly. Thanks for giving her that message for me. God bless!

You are such a source of encouragement, Emily! I've just recently gotten into this 'blog' thing, and have spent some time looking through your posts. I am inspired by your love for God and your desire to be a Godly wife and mother. It is also encouraging that you go through many of the same struggles that I go through as a mom. The pictures of your son are absolutely beautiful. He has grown up so much!!! I can't wait to see how beautiful your daughter will be. You are in our prayers as you go through these last few weeks before she is born. We love you!--Kristy (and Payton) Patterson
