mmmmmm.....

let me just share with you our latest little obsession in our house....edy's dibs...there should be some kind of warning label on these things. they are extremely addictive. the great thing is that they are perfectly-sized little ice cream bites that you can just grab on your way by the fridge. the not-so-great thing is that they are perfectly-sized little ice cream bites that you can just grab on your way by the fridge!! especially when you pass the fridge every time you walk in and out of your kitchen! i highly recommend the mint ones... and brian is currently devouring the cookies-n-cream version. all the flavors are covered in chocolate (sorry, eric), so ya gotta like chocolate to enjoy these. but since eric is the only person i've ever met who didn't eat chocolate, i'm guessing most of you will be loving these as much as we do! i will say that my mint box of dibs has emptied more quickly than brian's box... i will attribute that to the fact that i'm a pregnant woman who stays home all day!! but even if i wasn't and i didn't... my box would still probably be emptied faster..ha. so go out and get you some dibs today. they're not cheap ($3 at publix-- target had some, but just the plain vanilla and chocolate), but boy are they worth every penny! lemme know if you've had them and what you think.

update: 8/14/06-- i bought the toffee almond ones this week...... yuuuuuuuuuummmmm! i can't decide which ones i like better!!

i love ichat av!

well, we may be mac dorks, but we're dorks who get to see our friends hundreds of miles away with the fun invention of ichat av! eric just got a new apple laptop for work, and he came on with audio ichat tonite while kristi and i were instant messaging...and it was pretty much like talking on speaker phone... kristi and i agreed that we could just pick up the phone and talk much easier.... but THEN he asked if we could do video w/ my laptop... noooo, but go ahead and rub in the fact that you have an incredibly awesome new laptop in front of my husband, eric! :) brian would not be outdone, of course, so dundundunDUN!!!! he hooked up our digital camcorder to my laptop, and voila! there were kristi and i both in our pjs chatting as if we were sitting right beside each other! well, not exaaactly like that... the quality wasn't that great, but that's probably best for 2 pregnant women at 10:30 at night...haha. it was fun seeing her and eric, though. they gave us a tour of their bonus room-- it's done, and it's great! i can't wait to stay there next month. :) and we gave them a tour of our toy-infested living room... a familiar sight for them. :) by the time we really got it going, it was time for bed... so we didn't talk long. but we decided that we'll have to do that again soon with the kids. how fun! now i'll be able to see video of their sweet baby #3 in september! yay!!!! here's a screen shot of what the ichat av looked like... my heart is happy now that i've seen my long lost friend. :) another month seemed so long away.

lil sailor man...

brian changed ethan's clothes after church today while i was getting lunch ready...and ethan came walking into the kitchen in his cute little sailor hat! it's been sitting on his rocking chair all these months, waiting for his first ride on pappy's boat. of course, i've just seen it as a decoration in his room... daddy is obviously much more fun at this point in my pregnancy. :) here's a few shots of what we enjoyed after lunch today....

a badly needed haircut...

ethan was really in need for his 2nd haircut before his 1st birthday, but i really didn't want to chop it before his birthday... so last week, i finally set an "appt" w/ auntie kristie to help me cut his hair. (she, by the way, has still not had her baby...) anyway, this time was a little bit more of a challenge because 1) ethan is older and more aware of the sharp things coming at his head and 2) he wanted to play with the sharp things coming at his head! he also didn't like mommy holding his head as tightly as she could so that he wouldn't get his ear chopped off. he was not happy at all about that, but there's no reasoning with a 13 month old. any of the grandmas probably would have been in tears if they had witnessed his haircut. no, he wasn't abused or hurt... but he was not a happy camper! we didn't take too much off... just enough for the publix check out guy to stop saying what a pretty girl i have (though how many girls do you know that wear soccer outfits at the age of 1?). if you were just a stranger passing by ethan, you would not suspect that he just had a haircut. that's how i wanted it. :) and we were able to keep most of the curls in the back without subjecting him to the mullet. whew. :) he'll probably need another trim in a few weeks. oh dear. caroline will probably come out bald with no eyelashes, and it just won't be fair.

where'd my hair go?
