good morning! isn't it a BEAUTIFUL day at 5:35 AM!??! :) we will be leaving for the hospital in just a few minutes!!! i'm just slightly excited as you can tell. our wonderful pastor just called to say hi and to pray for us over the phone, so you really can't start out your birthing day any better than that, can you? brian and i talked last night about how it feels like so long ago that we were doing this with caroline (a whole 2 years! ha!). it feels so different this time around, but i really don't know why that is. maybe it's that there are two excited kiddos waiting to meet their sister... maybe it's that i've had the vbac experience behind me, so i know more what to expect... i don't know. but two things are the same. 1) i could not be any more excited and 2) our God is the same as He was when He perfectly orchestrated the births of ethan and caroline. that is something to hold on to today and to rejoice in!
two cute stories to tide you over till pictures of amelia start overtaking this blog....
-yesterday morning, i got home from my appointment and got the kids out of bed. i greeted them by saying, "guess where mommy's going tomorrow?!?" and ethan exclaimed, "to have amelia!!" in his excitement, he shouted, "i'm going to hug her like THIS!" and hugged his stuffed giraffe with all his might. caroline climbed out of bed and exclaimed, "NOT LIKE THAT!" and slapped herself in the head. oooooh dear, amelia better come out wearing a helmet and shoulder pads!! caroline continued this mantra all day, and i did my best to focus on how we will pat amelia instead of what we won't do!!
-as the kids and i were having a "picnic" on the living room floor yesterday afternoon, we talked about how today would be amelia's actual BIRTHday. this concept was kind of hard for ethan to understand, and he asked, "what kind of birthday is she gonna have?" wellllll....... a DOCTOR's party, i guess! haha. so we're hoping to have a little birthday party for amelia tonite when the kids come to visit.
alrighty, we've gotta get on the road! thanks for your prayers today. we will do our best to get the information out as soon as possible after she's born!
