mailed off for surgery...

my poor baby is really sick...no, not ethan, he's fine (despite the way it looks in that last video!)... my laptop is slowly fading into a comotose state. lately, everything has been running extremely slow, which i thought was due to the 15,000+ pictures and a ton of music on my meager 60GB hard drive. i'm sure all that stuff on there is not helping, but brian ran some geek tests and found a "fatal error" on my hard drive. no other details, really, except that the hard drive is bad. my baby's going brain dead. so... (insert superhero-type sound effect) we called apple care, which i paid almost $300 for almost 3 years ago, and it has been completely worth it! my apple care protection plan ends in april, so if bessie's gonna go, it's a good thing she's going now rather than in may! (aunt pam, i just realized that i've gone 3 years without naming my laptop! oh the tragedy... give me some good suggestions for a name....) apple is sending us a box that we'll use to mail the computer to them...brian has spent the last 2 days backing up everything that is of any importance to me. we've run into some glitches along the way, but we thankfully were able to eventually grab my pictures, documents, and movies. yes, i did say a prayer about it, something to the effect of "ok, Lord. in the grand scheme of things, this stuff really doesn't matter....but it'd be really nice if we could salvage my pictures." :) isn't it a blessing to know that the same God who sent manna to the israelites in the wilderness is God over megabytes and gigabytes?!? so, now we're just waiting for the box from apple to get here. then off she goes... i am really realizing how often i use my laptop... to look up a phone number, an address, a recipe, a strange rash on ethan... what did our mothers DO in the 80's?? :) brian and i will be sharing his computer for the next week or so...hopefully i won't clog up his computer with pictures. anybody have any suggestions for a really big external hard drive?

and by the way, just in case you mac-haters are tempted to blame my laptop's problems on the fact that it's a mac... stop right there. my mac is wonderful. it has done its job...it is a most superior machine. it can't help it that it has fallen off the edge of the couch at least 5 times in the last 3 years...

(yes, i watch my son more closely than i watch my laptop!!)

i promise i picked him up and calmed him down after this video was over. :) no children were harmed or neglected in the making of this video. ha.

i will post some happy videos of ethan soon. :) he is usually 95% happy. :)

ps- ethan's hair is slicked b/c he has dry scalp, and we've been putting coconut oil on it to moisturize his lil head... a different look than the mohawk, huh?

ok, one more video for now

i forgot i uploaded this one last night, as well. this is a beautiful oak tree that we saw on our honeymoon in charleston, sc! it's called the angel oak, and MAN, it's huge. i am a lover of oak trees, so it was worth the 30 minute drive just to see a tree. :)

sorry, it's still low resolution...and this one is longer, so it will probably take a little more time to load...mom, don't try this at home. you'll be there all night. :)

another video...still boxy

ok, so i figured out that youtube just takes forever to load the videos to the website...and i have only loaded videos smaller than 8 mb so far. the ones of ethan that i want to post are mostly 20+ mb... but they're on my computer that is in the walk-in clinic... SO i am confined to use the videos that brian's computer has, which are mostly small clips from things... like our wedding. here's another bad resolution video, but i want to see if it works. it's not that exciting of a video, just getting ready to take a funny family picture (i love my photographer!)... but this is still just testing...



ok, so it looks like it works. i can't wait to be able to put cutie pie up on here!!!!! shame on his daddy for not having any movies of him on his computer...ha. i kind of monopolize the whole "ethan memories" portion of our lives!!

have a great weekend, and i promise i will post some better quality video as soon as i can! OOH! i just thought of something! i can take some NEW video of ethan and load it to brian's computer... ok.. i will try to do that soon!!! what an epiphany! :)
